Who we are

Or Hagalil Congregation is a community of Jews and Gentiles who believe that Yeshua is the Messiah. We are committed to our faith and believe that through the Messiah Yeshua all who believe can have new life, peace and unity.

We care for our community and demonstrate this in a variety of ways including weekly meetings, seminars, Bible studies and community service projects.

We are located in Nahariyya in Western Galilee which is the northern most city in Israel on the Mediterranean Coast.

Our History

Mid 70s

In the home of Albert and Ruth Nessim

It began as a sitting room fellowship with immigrants
who spoke Russian, Hungarian, French, Spanish and a variety of other
tongues. Ruth attempted to translate into German or Yiddish and
Albert into French. Eventually Albert and Ruth decided that as we were in Israel, we would switch to Hebrew. Though we did not have one native Hebrew speaker among us, but we pressed on, learning as we went!

Formative years

During these formative years the Nessim’s shared the love of Yeshua with all who came to them. Over the years the fellowship has passed through many stages and changes. Albert passed away suddenly in 2007. Though he is greatly missed and irreplaceable, the fellowship continued.

In the interim years, Ruth held the Congregation together by inviting in various men to preach and lead the fellowship. During that time the Congregation incorporated under the name Oz L’Amo and then later Kehilah Or Hagalil.

Since 2012

Efraim & Jeannie

In 2012, Dr. Efraim Goldstein was invited by the Congregation to come and be the Pastor of the fellowship. Together Efraim and his wife Jeannie have continued to serve the Congregation.

2015

Jewish/Arab Fellowship

In 2015, the Arabic speaking Lebanese Fellowship led by Pierre Altounian merged with Kehilah Or Hagalil.

Our Vision
